During orientation week, floor representatives will be chosen by their
floors. In the weeks that follow, nominationss for Secretary and
Treasurer
will be collected and advertised. Then all residents of the hall will
have the opportunity to vote for their favorite nominee for the job.
Here are some pictures of some of previous years'
activities:
Barbeques are a favorite way to meet people at the beginning of the
year!

Right away we
will have a
tug-of-war against
Indy Hall
We also have a floor wars competition within our own hall called
Clayton's Classic that happens in the fall, and now also in the
spring!
We play a lot of volleyball and from time
to time will have a tournament

As the snow starts melting, people get a little crazed with nicer
weather. Here are some peolple engaged in a little mud football in Gay
Lake.
The Gay Hall Dinner, Dance & Casino is the biggest hall
event of
the year:

At the casino, guests are each given a certain amount of chips. No
currency is ever used; guests do not buy chips. As they play black jack,
roulette, or whatever else is open, they accumulate points as they
accumulate chips. A certain point total allows the player to exchange
chips for a chance in a raffle of small, medium and large prizes at the
end of the evening.

Diversity is a FUNdamental element of the UMM community. You will have
the opportunity to enjoy several Diversity Jams throughout the year, such
as this one which occurred one spring.

You may also want to
participate in
the Circle of Nations Indian Association's annual PowWow held in the
spring
