          How would Titian have responded to Michelangelo’s and Vasari’s dissing of his style of painting as they viewed his Danae in Rome?

          (see the excerpt from Vasari’s “Life of Titian” in your coursepack for this context)

          In your response, review some of the main points in the paragone debate between Venetian colorito and central Italian disegno, and have Titian make

         specific reference to works of art in the process of argumentation.
