We will make extensive use of the rich setting Rome offers by supplementing our coursework with regular excursions in the city together with several nearby day trips. In addition, we will spend a long weekend exploring the city of Florence. Students will have two free weekends during which they may either travel or stay in Rome (where the opportunities for exploration are virtually endless).

We will visit a great many sites, from St. Peter's and the Vatican Musuems to ancient Roman houses, from the ruins of Ostia Antica to the Musuem of the Liberation, and from the modernist architecture of a Fascist town to the Uffizi galery in Florence.
